Mrs. D's Science
My name is Brandi Domkowski, but my student’s call me Mrs. D’. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A and M Commerce with an emphasis in 4-8th grade science and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Education Technology. I am also currently working toward a Master's degree in Educational Administration. I welcome your child to Coleman Junior High and our science classroom! I am very excited to have your student in my class and I am looking forward to facilitating your child’s exploration and discovery of the wonderful and amazing world of science! I hope this year your child will "Catch Their Dream" in science!
7th Grade Science is a compilation of various scientific disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. The students will use the scientific method with laboratory exercises and collaborative learning activities to clarify and reinforce concepts taught through lecture and/or class participation activities. We will complete many projects this year in my room, so please help me encourage your child to complete them on time.
I know that the parent-teacher relationship is vital to your child's success in school. As your child’s teacher, I understand that you are allowing me to be responsible for your most precious gift and I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that your student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom. However, I cannot do this alone: I need your help! Science is a difficult subject and we need to be partners in the learning process. Please encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that they have completed their assignments, give them help with projects and studying, and make sure they come to school with a ‘can do’ attitude! Getting access to Skyward (Waxahachie ISD’s online administrative software) allows you to view your child’s progress daily! You can see absences and tardies as well as late and missing assignments. For information on how to gain access, please contact our school administration at 972-923-4790.
By working together, we can help your child have a very fulfilling learning experience. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me. I check my email quite frequently so it is probably the best way to reach me. My email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org. I may also be reached during school hours at (972) 923-4790 ext. 32109. Please leave a message on my voice mail and I will return your call as quickly as possible. I will also be available for parent-teacher conferences during my conference period from 12:30 - 1:20 or after school if needed.
