Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees Names Lone Finalist for Superintendent

The Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees has unanimously named Dr. Jerry Hollingsworth as the lone finalist for the position of district superintendent. This announcement begins the 21-day waiting period that is required by state law before a superintendent can sign a contract and begin working for a district.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Hollingsworth to Waxahachie ISD,” said Board of Trustees President Dusty Autrey. “The experience he brings will be a benefit to students, staff, and our community.”

Dr. Hollingsworth is currently serving as the superintendent of Bandera ISD, and has 28 years of experience in public education. Dr. Hollingsworth’s career began as a junior high and high school teacher, followed by positions as high school principal in Stephenville and Grapevine-Colleyville. He also served as associate superintendent for Burleson ISD.
