Face coverings deemed optional for 2021-22 school year

Dear Waxahachie ISD Families—

As the school year draws to a close, we want to thank you for your partnership this year in implementing COVID-19 health protocols. We are proud that our students were able to learn in-person from the first day of school, and that we never had to shut down due to COVID. We could not have been as successful without your support.

While we have not received definitive guidance from TEA regarding COVID protocols for the 2021-2022 school year, we are confident and hopeful for a normal school year. Unless TEA mandates otherwise, Waxahachie ISD plans to make face coverings optional for all students and staff members. This will include any student activities conducted by the district over the summer.

Again, we are truly appreciative of your cooperation and support during this unprecedented school year. We hope you have a wonderful summer vacation.
